A good point by my friend Matt was that xanga has a tendency to be advertisement heavy-- for things like porn and other dubious content that I tend to not pay that much attention to-- but since I started checking out the blogger format and tools, I'm finding that I like it better. Also, other fine peeps I know prefer blogger--  like Jane, and  John.

In the meantime,... like I said, I'm transitioning... I may post here from time to time, but I think you'll find the bulk of my stuff at blogger.

What does BUSY mean?

I've decided I don't really like that word. (ironically, I used it in my last post-- the use of that word may be remedied in future usage)

Y'know-- busy sounds kinda trite- as in I'm too busy to spend time with people, etc. Busy is the word to use when you want other people to stop including you in stuff-- it's a signal that one is opting out of the normal events. Busy is also a word to use to smokescreen certain people out of your life- to pre-empt/ train them from including you, because you'd rather avoid or reduce your level of interaction with them. Sometimes I do that, because it's easier than saying, essentially, "Leave me alone."

I think this past year, my work has been a source of stress for me--- certainly, it has kept me rather occupied--- but to be honest, if something was really important, or if a friend or relative really needed me, I'd find a way to make time. It's incredible what one can do for the people they genuinely care about. My work is something I like, but seriously, it's not my life- it can be something that keeps me occupied during the day-- and some nights. The thing is, I think I allowed people to think that my work was all-consuming... that it was the reason I was "busy" ... perhaps, because I got tired of having to deal with explaining why I'd rather not be close to them. Maybe "busy with work" became an easy excuse for not having to deal with certain difficult persons or if I was just tired and didn't know why.  I know I'm not the only one who does this, but I wish there was a better way to deal. I guess I feel somewhat conflicted by my desire to be bluntly honest and trying not to be completely selfish only to make my life, not necessarily others', life better organized, for lack of a better term.

To be more accurate in describing my life right now-- I'd say it's relatively full and active. That sounds more positive and tells a better story.. because, honestly, it is positive.  Family and friends, my supa hot boyfriend  , weddings, activites, church and events are really fleshing out this month and the next already. But am I really busy? To tell the truth -- nope.

Relatives are here- friends coming into town through July-vacations here and there-- yow. It's gonna be a busy summer!

Ha! Going on vacation to NYC tomorrow-- thru Tues. Yeah! W/ my chickitas. Plan to roam Central Park, maybe do some gondola-ing, get a slice of NY 'zza, check out the Guggenheim, Times Square, World Trade Ctr. Memorial, Brooklyn Tabernacle, get some good italian food, maybe some indian, thai. mmm. We may have to do LOTS of walking to burn it all off!!! Love hanging w/ these girls-- all of us are independent, flexible, adventurous, and have minds of our own. Which makes for a fun trip and hanging in general. yay. :) Will totally miss the boyfriend though :( -- but happy to run around and not be anxious about anything for once. Haven't had a good vacation in awhile.
